Located only 25 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport, the town offers the chance for a car-free and more sustainable  getaway . Skip the car rental.  Take a shuttle from the airport and once in town, take advantage of the free bus system. If you are driving, just park your car when you arrive!

Remember, Park City’s elevation ranges from 7,000 ft (Main Street) to 10,000 foot (Jupiter Peak) above sea level. If you’re visiting from a lower elevation, you’ll notice your body works harder, your respiration rate increases, and your body loses water faster at higher elevations. Take it easy the first few times out.

Be respectful of the animals- deer, elk, moose, coyotes and more—who make Park City their home. Give them plenty of room and never touch or try to feed them and supervise your pets when outside.

Wild Aware Utah has a complete guide on human-wildlife interactions and how to manage them.  For example, Moose often appear very docile and calm, but they injure more people every year than bears do.  If you encounter a moose, give it a lot of space; stay calm and slowly back off in the direction you came.

Wherever you are, leave no trace and use social media responsibly.  When you tag a location, you are actually driving more visitors toward what an environmentally sensitive site could be.  Stay on the resorts’ designated snow trails within your ability.

Have fun—and be safe!
