The Rattlesnake Canyon Arches in Colorado are off the beaten path. This canyon is home to the world’s second-largest natural formation of arches outside of Utah.
Rattlesnake Canyon Arches, formed in a 150-foot-high layer of Entrada sandstone, are along a mile of the canyon’s upper rim. The smooth and salmon-colored stone is 174 million-years-old.
The Cedar Tree Arch is the longest of the group of 35 arches. More information and photographs are here.
