The Mile High City – one of WalletHub’s top ten “Best Cities for New Year’s Eve” – is ready to welcome 2022 with a bang. Following a pandemic hiatus in 2020, the sky will light up once again over downtown Denver at the close of 2021 with New Year’s Eve fireworks.
Two spectacular fireworks shows will occur at 9 p.m. and midnight over the 16th Street Mall, Denver’s mile-long pedestrian corridor that spans through the heart of downtown. The identical fireworks shows will be synched to a music playlist from live DJs along the mall running from 8 p.m. to midnight.
In addition to the returning outdoor fireworks, many of Denver’s holiday traditions have resumed this year across the city including spectacular light displays, New Year’s parties, festive events, blockbuster museum exhibitions and the 110-foot-tall Mile High Tree, brought to you by presenting sponsor Modelo USA, the tallest digital tree in North America. Denver’s indoor celebrations will look a little different this year with thorough safety precautions in place; visitors should check requirements via individual event sites beforehand.
