George Floyd Square is located at the intersection of East 38th Street and Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis, MN. It is a memorial to Floyd, a victim of police brutality.

This shrine is a place of peace, mourning, healing and justice. It features art, protest signs, candles, books, and more. Jeanelle Austin, founder of Racial Agency Initiative, a leadership coaching organization, was responsible for bringing together a group of caretakers who maintain George Floyd Square.

In the summer of 2020, Minneapolis city officials allocated $4.7 million to establish a permanent memorial at the Square. View photos here.
