Little Island on the Hudson River in New York City is open to the public. The 2.4 acre  park features more than 350 species of flowers, trees, and shrubs.

Little Island is a floating structure made from 280 concrete piles that resemble tulips and it rises and falls with the river’s water levels. Notable features on the island are a central plaza where food and beverages are available and a 687-seat amphitheater.
