The Newport Music Festival in Rhode Island will present seventeen concerts this summer. All of the performances will take place at outdoor venues. They will limit capacity and there will be social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The repertoire will include music by Beethoven, Bach, and Brahms. In addition, the Festival will commission a new work by a Black, Indigenous, person of color, or woman composer as a commitment to the future of classical music.
