Egypt held a remarkable ceremony on April 3, 2021 to transport 22 mummies to the new National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustate, Cairo. They kicked off the event with a 21-gun salute and transported the 18 Pharaohs and four other royals in climate-controlled cases.

The parade included a marching band, light display, Egyptian costumes, and music. The Museum will display 20 of the mummies, and place the remaining two in storage.

The Mummies Hall will open on April 18, 2021. View photos and book tickets here.
