For the first time in over 50 years, Cynthia Ann Parker’s bison robe will be on display in a new Plains Cultures Gallery at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.
Examine the bison robe worn by Cynthia Ann Parker during her recapture and return to her family after 24 years with the Comanche people. Read Cynthia Ann’s story, One Story, One Tribe, as told by several of her descendants. Discover objects from other Native Americans indigenous to the Great Plains!
“We are incredibly honored to share a piece of Cynthia Ann Parker’s story and the words written by her descendants in the new gallery exploring Plains Cultures,” said Orlando Carvalho, President of the Museum. “We invite guests to examine the indigenous people of Texas and the Great Plains and continue to personally connect with the History of Fort Worth.”
The new Plains Cultures Gallery opens November 4, 2022. The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM – 5 PM, and Sunday, Noon – 5 PM.
