For the second year in a row, the landmark TWA Hotel at JFK Airport is transforming its tarmac into a roller skating rink.
The Roll-A-Rama at the Runway Rink opens for the season on April 15! Every weekend, you can spin around the 44-by-56 outdoor rink (to retro tunes, naturally) near the 1958 Lockheed Constellation “Connie” airplane turned cocktail lounge. Bring your crew for some four-wheeling — or plan a fly party at the world’s only airport skating rink!
Composed of 2,668 tiles! — the rink will be open Fridays from 4 to 8 PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 8 PM, weather permitting. Events may be booked on weekdays.
Rentals of four-wheeled “quad skates” (patented in 1863) are included with every 50-minute skate session, which costs $20 per adult and $16 per child under 12. Have your own pair? Bring ’em, even if you’re going straight from skating to your flight gate. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) allows the footwear in carry-ons and checked bags. More information here.
