Showcase Cinemas is celebrating the holiday season with the return of its “Holiday Classics” program. This four-week series offers movie-goers free admission to classic holiday movies with a donation of a non-perishable food item, which will benefit local food pantries across Massachusetts.

This year’s line-up of classics includes fan-favorites and nostalgic films to help spread the yuletide cheer. Offering a great reason to get back to the movies, customers can feel good about giving back while they enjoy watching A Christmas Story, Elf, The Polar Express and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation back on the big screen.

Since the program’s launch, Showcase Cinemas has donated hundreds of thousands of pounds of non-perishable food items throughout participating communities. “The Merrimack Valley Food Bank is excited once again to partner with Showcase Cinemas and their Holiday Classics food collection,” said Debbie Callery, Assistant Executive for Merrimack Valley Food Bank. “This is a great way to give back to the community where you work and live – and you get to enjoy a classic holiday movie with your friends and family!”

Holiday Classics runs every Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from November 27–December 18 at select Showcase Cinemas theaters. Customers should bring their non-perishable food items to the box office for free admission to the movie. In addition to the donation of a non-perishable food item, guests must reserve their free Holiday Classics tickets in advance via the Showcase web site or app. Tickets for walk-up customers and large groups will not be available.
