For the first time in its history, the Rijksmuseum Museum in Amsterdam is organizing an exhibition about the 17th-century master Johannes Vermeer.
Scheduled from 10 February to 4 June 2023, the exhibit will include at least 28 paintings worldwide. This promises to be the largest Vermeer exhibition ever.
In the run-up to the exhibition, research is being done into Vermeer’s life and artistry, his artistic choices and motives for his compositions, as well as into the process of making his paintings. More information here.
