The Pacific Whale Foundation (PWF), a nonprofit organization focused on protecting the ocean and marine wildlife, is bringing back the virtual installment of its renowned whale watch program in 2022.

The programs provide children of all ages with fun and educational first-hand experiences at sea. PWF’s Keiki Whalewatches aim to teach children about the importance of protecting the ocean and inspire them to practice responsible ocean stewardship and are all led by certified Marine Naturalists who provide a truly unique, educational, and fun adventure with grade-appropriate curriculum.

Introduced in 2021, the Virtual Keiki Whalewatch programbrings the whales to students via one-hour live sessions offered weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays. The virtual program features engaging footage filmed off the coast of Maui, simulating the experience of an in-person whalewatch with the foundation. It also includes a library of online lessons and lesson plans that can be shared with students to enhance the program experience through hands-on activities.

The virtual program can accommodate up to 70 students and costs $50 per program. The whale watch is free for students at Maui County schools and they should contact rebeccalewis@pacificwhale.org for a discount code at booking.
