Three decades ago, Dan Dobrowolski introduced Canoe Bay to the world, nestled in the heart of the Midwest—a sanctuary of serenity specifically designed for couples sprawling across a picturesque 300-acre preserve with a crystalline, glacially sculpted lake. Canoe Bay quickly earned accolades for its unparalleled architecture and design, culminating in the esteemed title of America’s finest accommodations by ZAGAT’s discerning survey.

The building designs came from Wisconsin native Frank Lloyd Wright’s protege John Rattenbury and noted Minneapolis-based architect Kelly Davis.  Mr. Rattenbury worked directly with Wright on many of his most notable buildings including the Guggenheim museum in NYC and the Marin County center in Northern California and served as the Project Architect in Arizona for ASU’s Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium.

“I’ve always loved the beautiful organic designs of Frank Lloyd Wright style architecture and knew the land that would become Canoe Bay was special,” says Dobrowolski. “As we all now recognize how moments spent in nature can be very good for us and the value of unplugging, Canoe Bay’s architecture and design offers our guests much more than just a typical retreat.”

To commemorate, the resort has introduced the Canoe Bay 30th Anniversary Package featuring a 30% savings on a third night with the booking of at least 2 consecutive nights and a complimentary room/cottage upgrade (when available), valid through December 31, 2024.
