The formal unveiling of the World War I Memorial in Washington, D.C. took place on April 16, 2021. It honors the 4.7 million Americans who served their nation including those who made the supreme sacrifice.
Architect John Weishaar designed this nearly 1.8 acre outdoor structure. It’s central feature is a sculpture titled “A Soldier’s Journey” that they will install in 2024.
Located on Pennsylvania Avenue, the World War I Memorial is open 24 hours a day. More information and a photo gallery are here.
