This Massive New Jersey Off-Road Park Offers Motocross Tracks, ATV Trails, And Real Adventure

One motocross park in South Jersey has its own radio station at 87.9 FM. Riders tune in to hear practice orders and track conditions. I love that the track talks back to you.

The property spreads across up to 100 acres of sandy clay and wooded trails. There are three groomed tracks, including a 1.4-mile course built in an AMA national style. Tiny riders get their own mini track, so nobody gets left in the pits.

New Jersey usually gets attention for beaches and boardwalks. This spot trades salt air for roost, mud, and the buzz of two-stroke engines. You can bring your own bike, rent an ATV, or simply grab a seat in the stands.

There’s even a three-story tower full of spotters watching every lap. So how muddy are you willing to get?

Most parks give you one track and wish you luck. Field of Dreams Off Road Vehicle Park gives you three, each built for a different kind of rider.

The headliner is the National Track, a 1.4-mile course styled after AMA national races. Its mix of sandy clay keeps experienced riders honest. The jumps look serious, but many can be rolled if you prefer staying closer to the ground.

Next comes the Amateur Track, a beginner-to-intermediate course with fewer obstacles and jumps than the Pro Track. It runs about a mile and welcomes all bikes. The track currently allows dirt bikes only, while ATVs and side-by-sides are restricted to designated events and riding areas.

Then there’s the rebuilt Supercross and Mini Track. The Pee Wee/Pit Bike Track serves young riders on 50cc bikes, pit bikes, and Stacyc electric balance bikes. Separate practice days help keep big bikes and small bikes apart.

I like this setup for families with mixed skill levels. A parent can attack the big course while a kid builds confidence nearby. Practice sessions rotate by ability, bike size, and quads.

That means less standing around and more riding. Honestly, the hardest choice might be which track to hit first.

Not everybody wants jumps and lap times. Some riders just want trees, turns, and a little mud on their boots.

The park features wooded off-road trails, with ATV and side-by-side access available during designated events and organized riding sessions. Multiple connecting links let you mix up your route. You can loop around and still find something new on the next pass.

Here’s a fun origin bit. The trails were professionally designed and built by the Tri-County Motorcycle Club. The Lafferty Family supervised the work, so real riders shaped these paths.

Trail riding feels different from track riding. Your speed drops, your focus shifts, and the scenery suddenly matters. Pine woods in South Jersey make a pretty great backdrop for that slower pace.

Pack smart for this part of the day. Towels for yourself and your car are a wise move, since mud tends to follow trail riders home. A change of clothes won’t hurt either.

Trails can also close depending on weather and conditions. Checking before you leave saves you a disappointing drive. After all, nobody wants to haul a quad across New Jersey for nothing.

No Machine? No Problem, Grab A Rental

Owning an off-road vehicle costs a lot. Trailers, gear, and maintenance add up faster than a holeshot.

Good news for curious newcomers. Field of Dreams Off Road Vehicle Park started offering ATV rentals back in 2018. That opened the door for people who wanted a taste of trail riding without buying a machine.

Rentals make a great test run. You can find out whether you love the sport before spending serious money. I’d much rather learn that on a borrowed quad than in a dealer showroom.

First-timers often need a little guidance, and the park has instructors in the mix. A patient teacher can turn nervous throttle twisting into real confidence. That kind of help matters when you’ve never steered an ATV before.

Plan your rental ahead of time, since availability can depend on the day and trail conditions. Wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and clothes you don’t mind ruining. Dirt will find you.

A rental also works well for a birthday or a friend’s day out. It’s a story you’ll actually want to tell later. Just maybe leave the white sneakers at home.

Safety Gets Treated Like A Full-Time Job Here

A three-story Safety Tower stands over the action, staffed with spotters. Those eyes in the sky watch riders from a spot nobody on the ground can match.

Flaggers work every practice session too. They warn riders about trouble ahead, which keeps small problems from becoming big ones. Every staff member carries a portable radio for instant communication.

Medical help stays close. The park has an ambulance, EMTs, and a mini mobile medical transport unit on site. That’s a serious setup for a practice day.

Location adds another layer of comfort. The park sits across the street from an airport. If a rider ever needs a trauma hospital, helicopter transport can happen quickly.

Then there’s the clever radio trick. Announcements about practice orders and track conditions play through speakers in the buildings. They also broadcast live on 87.9 FM.

Parents can relax a bit more knowing all this exists. Motocross will always carry some risk, so good systems really count. I appreciate a park that plans for the worst while everyone enjoys the best part.

Why drive home tired when you can wake up next to the track? The park is a registered campground with daily and weekend camping options.

RV and camper owners get a nice bonus. There are 10 electrical hookup sites that handle 50, 30, and 20 amp plugs. That covers a wide range of rigs.

Camping changes the whole rhythm of a trip. You skip the early morning rush and the long drive back. Your gear stays close, and your bikes stay ready.

The parking area is large enough to handle camper trailers. That’s helpful when your crew shows up with trucks, toy haulers, and a pile of equipment. Nobody likes squeezing a trailer into a tight lot.

Evenings at a motocross campground can be a treat. Riders swap stories, check their machines, and plan tomorrow’s laps. Kids usually have energy left over too.

With only 10 hookup sites, reserving early seems smart. Pack lights, chairs, and plenty of water. A weekend here at this New Jersey park might turn one ride day into a family tradition.

Real Bathrooms And A Power Wash Station? Fancy

Motocross parks don’t always earn praise for restrooms. This one went the extra mile with Class A, ADA accessible restroom and shower facilities.

That’s a big deal after a dusty session. A real shower beats a bottle of water dumped over your head. Your car seats will thank you as well.

The vehicle power wash station might be my favorite amenity. Blasting caked mud off your bike before loading it feels wonderful. It also saves you a messy cleanup in your driveway.

The property includes an administration building and equipment maintenance building too. Extra equipment buildings help keep the tracks in shape. A track control tower and spectator stands round out the layout.

Food can show up on site at certain times, so check what’s available on your day. Bringing snacks and drinks is still a good backup plan. Hungry riders get cranky quickly.

These details sound small until you spend eight hours outdoors. Comfort keeps families around longer and makes return trips easier to sell. Clean facilities might be the quiet hero of Field of Dreams Off Road Vehicle Park.

Some of the fastest-growing fans here are barely tall enough to reach a counter. The park hosts the Stacyc Series, built around small electric balance bikes for young kids.

That’s how future racers start. A safe course sized for tiny wheels lets them learn balance, speed, and confidence. The smiles alone could power the pit lights.

Families also get FoD Family AdventureFest on the calendar. Events like that make the park feel welcoming beyond hardcore racers. Grandparents and cousins can find a reason to come along.

The mini track supports 50cc bikes and mini ATVs as well. Separate practice days help small riders feel less crowded. Parents can watch without worrying about a full-size bike roaring past.

I think this focus on kids says a lot about the place. Strong programs for young riders keep the sport alive for years. It also means the whole family can share one hobby.

Bring ear protection for little spectators, since engines get loud. Sunscreen and snacks are smart too. Then sit back and enjoy watching someone tiny conquer their first dirt corner.

Race Days Bring The Real Noise

Practice is fun, but race day turns up the volume. Field of Dreams Off Road Vehicle Park hosts AMA race events throughout the season.

A Points Series gives regular competitors something to chase. Each event adds up, so consistency counts as much as raw speed. That keeps riders coming back again and again.

The park has even stepped beyond its own dirt. In October 2018, it hosted the Wildwood Race on the Beach. Racing on sand by the ocean sounds like pure New Jersey chaos in the best way.

Spectators have stands for watching the action. You don’t need to ride to enjoy the jumps, battles, and holeshots. A day in the bleachers can be a great introduction to the sport.

Event schedules can shift for weather and other reasons. Checking the calendar before you head out is always a good idea. Race days also change regular practice times.

If you’ve only seen motocross on TV, the in-person energy hits differently. The roar, the dust, and the speed all land at once. Earplugs are a really good call.

Mark your calendar for midweek and weekends. The park runs open practice year-round, usually on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Wednesday hours typically start at noon, while weekend sessions begin earlier in the morning. Weather and race events can shuffle things around. A quick check before leaving is always worth it.

Plug 1801 W Buckshutem Rd, Millville, NJ 08332 into your GPS. That’s the address the park recommends. It puts you deep in South Jersey, far from beach traffic.

The backstory is pretty interesting. The project first grew out of plans for NJ Motorsports Park. In 2013, it became its own entity after buying land from the City of Millville, and it opened in August 2014.

Richard Schmidt was a founding partner. In February 2026, Richard Schmidt and his family purchased the park, with his wife Tammy and their sons Rich and Travis involved in its operations. He previously managed Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey.

Starting in 2026, the park switched to simpler pricing without memberships and extra fees. That makes planning a lot easier. Now the only hard part is choosing which track to ride first.
