One hundred years ago construction was well underway for the new Liberty Memorial in Kansas City MO. It was built to honor the courage and sacrifice of the war dead from the founding catastrophe of the 20th century.

Nestling it within the walls of the Tower, at its cornerstone on the Memorial Courtyard, the Liberty Memorial Association laid a time capsule to be opened in 100 years. The ceremony to lay the cornerstone included airplanes circling overhead, a band concert of “patriotic airs,” releasing of doves, colored smoke, and readings from the five Allied commanders and President Coolidge.

It is now 2024. Tune in live for the unveiling of the 1924 time capsule on October 16. The Museum and Memorial has always held an “official” list of messages and records enclosed in the time capsule, but what surprises and stories will be unearthed? Join online to find out!
