Marking Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s 50th Anniversary—and more than 40 years after its original debut—the park is introducing a re-imagined version of a beloved classic coaster.

The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge is a brand-new, family-friendly, inverted roller coaster where guests will race through more than 2,500 feet of track at speeds up to 40 mph, with drops that will leave visitors howling.

Set in a haunted Bavarian village deep within the park’s Germany section, the ride will invite guests to become the Big Bad Wolf himself, tearing through the foggy forest and abandoned towns. Reimagining the iconic coaster that huffed, puffed, and thrilled riders from 1984 to 2009, this next chapter promises a fairy-tale experience with a lot of bite, perfect for thrill-seekers of all ages.

While the park’s official 50th Anniversary Celebration kicks off on May 16 with festive décor, exclusive merch, 75-cent brews, and a fireworks display, the new coaster will officially open to the public on May 23. Park members can enjoy exclusive early access May 16–18, making it the perfect opportunity to be among the first to experience the iconic coaster. Guests born in May 1975 will also receive free park admission on May 16 for a shared birthday celebration with this beloved park.

Beyond Busch Gardens, the greater Williamsburg area offers a land of living history, timeless charm, and adventures that are anything but make-believe—from strolling the cobblestone streets of Colonial Williamsburg, where the 18th century comes to life with costumed interpreters, to cruising the scenic Virginia Capital Trail on a guided e-bike tour with Williamsburg on Wheels, to making a splash at Water Country USA, Virginia’s largest water park, packed with rides and attractions for all ages.
