To mark the fifth anniversary of the St. Pete Pier and the St. Pete Pier District’s grand opening, the City of St. Petersburg FL presents ‘Celebrating 5 Years of exPIERiences’ during the month of July.
Residents and visitors alike can enjoy a series of themed weekends filled with family fun, music, food, wellness, art, and innovation, culminating in an unforgettable drone show finale on July 27 with 727 Day.
Since opening in 2020, the St. Pete Pier has become a beloved waterfront destination, a hub for culture, dining, recreation and sustainability. The five-year anniversary festivities will reflect everything that makes the Pier a symbol of St. Pete, from its welcoming spirit and creative energy to its inclusivity and innovation.
MONTH-LONG CELEBRATION
- Red, White & Views, July 4 and 5: The Pier’s month-long celebration kicks off with Red, White & Views, a two-day Independence Day festival. Guests can enjoy a Pier Run, live music by the 13th US Army Band and a dazzling fireworks display on Friday, July 4. The celebration continues Saturday, July 5, with entertainment on the water, including free-style jet ski, water ski and flyboard shows, DJ sets, sand sculptures and vibrant murals creating a spirited salute to summer on the waterfront.
- Beats On the Pier, July 12: Feel the rhythm of summer during Beats on the Pier!This all-day celebration has live music at every turn, featuring local performers and vibrant entertainment. The evening concludes with a free concert at Spa Beach Park.
- Fit & Fun, July 19 and 20: It’s a weekend of wellness and summertime fun at the St. Pete Pier with Fitness Fest on Saturday, July 19 and the 4th Annual Ice Cream Festival on Sunday, July 20. In partnership with Healthy St. Pete and Orlando Health, this two-day celebration boasts family-friendly fun, a super bounce house village, face painting, games, a live DJ and other exciting activities. Guests can cool off with treats from over 40 ice cream and sweet treat vendors on Sunday while enjoying murals and sand sculptures.
- 727 Day, July 27: For the grand finale of the St. Pete Pier’s five-year anniversary and in honor of the 727 area code, the Pier transforms into a futuristic playground for 727 Tech Day, a showcase of cutting-edge innovation featuring autonomous vehicles, robotics, marine science demos and more. The celebration concludes with an epic 1,000-unit drone show at 9:00 p.m., visually telling the story of St. Pete’s iconic piers and community spirit.
