While National Dog Day might be everyday to some of us, on Aug. 26 pet owners should celebrate their pups a little more than we already do.

Name: Good Dog Bar

Location: Atlantic City, New Jersey

Name: Boozehounds & Bean Goods 

Location: Greater Palm Springs, California

Located in the heart of Palm Springs, Boozehounds is the perfect restaurant concept with dogs top of mind featuring dog-friendly outdoor spaces, extensive menus just for dogs, and more.  Alongside globally inspired brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night options for dinners, pups can enjoy fresh meals including gazpacho, a teriyaki salmon bowl, or a doggie TV dinner while their humans sip on a delicious cocktail. With the slogan, “where the dogs bring the humans,” this trendy restaurant is sure to be a hit with those traveling with pets. For all the dachshund-lovers out there, Bean Goods, a shop devoted entirely to our favorite short-legged friends, sells a variety of specialty pup-themed merchandise. From Doggo Bandanas to hats to stickers and stationery, Bean Goods has served over 20,000 customers and gives back to the community by donating one percent of every bean goods sale to a rotating selection of charities.

Location: SLO CAL

Sitting in the idyllic Mediterranean climate of California’s Central Coast is SLO CAL (San Luis Obispo County) and the perfect destination to venture to with a furry friend. Known for its sprawling vineyards, visiting one of the 300+ wineries is a must for those visiting the county, and, of course, the dog-friendly wineries are a needed addition. Experience the unique blend of wine tasting and pet-friendly environment at  Adelaida Winery. Take in the sights of Paso Robles in a tasting room while your dog snacks on locally-made organic dog treats, a special treat just for them. This family-owned farm is certified through the Sustainability in Practice Program, ensuring a sustainable and enjoyable experience for all. Here, dogs are welcome to stay outside while their humans take a quick tour of the barrel room or shop inside. For those looking to do more than just taste wine, stop by Wild Horse Winery & Vineyards in SLO CAL’s north county city, San Miguel. Visitors are welcome to picnic on the grounds with their dogs and visit the vegetable gardens to see exotic tomato species. After tasting the vineyard’s wine, meet the winery mascot, Floyd the Llama, his girlfriend Dolly, and their son Salvador Dali. Head to South County to experience one of California’s latest AVAs, SLO Coast Wine Collective, and experience Wolff Vineyards in the city of San Luis Obispo. The property welcomes dogs, and a furry tagalong may even get to befriend the owner’s Goldendoodle while the staff gives out food, treats, and affection.

Name: Municipal Winemakers, Au Bon Climat, and Deep Sea Tasting Room 

Location: Santa Barbara, California

The beautiful seaside city of Santa Barbara is full of dog-friendly establishments for every canine to enjoy, including several wineries across town. Located in the Funk Zone, Municipal Winemakers has plenty of treats and water bowls on hand for any furry friend tagging along for a tasting. Here, visitors can sip local wine or check out food pop-ups and events with their pups, encouraging guests to share any photos on social with the tag #dogsofmuni. In the Presidio neighborhood, dog owners can try Au Bon Climat, a recipient of Wine & Spirits Magazine’s “Top 100 Wineries of the World” for 2020, 2021, and 2022. During their visit, pups will receive lots of love, water, and treats. For those looking for an oceanfront experience, Deep Sea Tasting Room allows dogs on their patio located at the historic Stearns Wharf to enjoy panoramic views while their humans sip on Conway Family Wines. 

Name: Mutts & Martinis 

Location: St. Pete/Clearwater, Florida

Downtown St. Pete is home to Florida’s first dog waterpark, which doubles as St. Pete’s largest sports bar. The iconic establishment, Mutts and Martinis, offers playtime for dogs and parents alike. The waterpark gives pups ample space to run around and play, complete with a zero-entry splash fountain and water sprays. Meanwhile, humans can enjoy the full-liquor bar, 28 TVs, ensuring everyone has a great time. Enjoy signature cocktails like the Puffy Poodle, Dorky Yorky or the Chihuahua Sunrise while your pup frolics under the St. Pete Sun! 

Name: Katy Trail, Barry Annimo Dog Park & Mutts Canine Cantina 

Location: Dallas, Texas

You and your four-legged friend can explore plenty of play spots in Dallas, TX! Start with a long walk along Katy Trail, a former railroad courier transformed into a dog-friendly “rail-trail” complete with water fountains for both you and your pup. Stop by the Ice House after your walk, which boasts a large, open patio to cool off after your stroll. Just a block away from the vibrant Deep Ellum neighborhood is Barry Annimo Dog Park, where colorful murals line the park’s pillars, mirroring the area’s artistic vibe. Looking to socialize with your furry friend? Enjoy a refreshing cocktail while your pup runs around at Mutts Canine Cantina. Don’t forget to treat your dog to a Pupsicle, a frozen beef broth and peanut butter popsicle that’s sure to get their tail wagging! 

Name: Pier 99 and Water Dog 

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas

A dog-friendly destination, this hidden beachtown in South Texas makes the ideal getaway for travelers and their four-legged friends. Spend the day playing among the surf at one of Corpus Christi’s nine white sand beaches where dogs on leash are welcome or bring Fido along for a standup paddle board class around the downtown marina from Water Dog. Together, visitors and their pups can  breathe in the salty air on one of the city’s pet-friendly patios, including Pier 99, one of the top seafood restaurants that features a dedicated menu for canines with delicacies like fish, beef or chicken. 

Name: Zazie

Location: San Francisco, California

At the neighborhood bistro, Zazie, dogs are always welcome to sit at the sidewalk tables outside, but every Monday night, “Zazie Goes to the Dogs.” During this weekly event, dog owners are welcome to dine on the heated and covered patio. During the event, dog owners are rewarded for bringing their pups with $10 off any bottle on the wine list while their dogs are provided with endless treats and pets. 

Name: Tail o’ the Pup and The Morrison

Location: Los Angeles, California  Los Angeles is a dog owner’s paradise, with many dog-friendly beaches, restaurants, and bars, there are plenty of places to visit with your pups. Stop by the iconic West Hollywood hot dog stand, Tail o’ the Pup to grab a meal for you and your dog.
