Thomas Jefferson’s home in Monticello VA holds its 61st annual Independence Day Celebration & Naturalization Ceremony July 4.
President of the University of Virginia, James E. Ryan, will speak to new citizens from around the world. The event will feature a presentation of the colors from the Boy Scouts of America Troop 75, and music from the Charlottesville Band, Charlottesville Opera, Old Line Fife and Drum Corps, and The Oratorio Society of Virginia.
The ceremony starts at 9 a.m.
Admission to the ceremony is FREE and open to the public. After the ceremony, enjoy free root beer floats and kid’s activities on the West Lawn.

Parking is available at Piedmont Virginia Community College. Please secure your shuttle time to Monticello. To allow enough time for parking and security, plan to arrive by 8 a.m.
