It’s been a very hot summer in California. Which should get you thinking about the fall. Here are a few for ways to cool off as well as a look ahead to some specials for Labor Day travels and beyond in Sonoma County:

In between sampling the region’s incredible culinary options, there is much more to do in Sonoma Valley.

The Sonoma Botanical Garden‘s new fun-filled family program, “Sunday Funday” takes place every second Sunday throughout the summer with face painting, arts & crafts, children’s music, family yoga, and more. All summer long, explore the Ribbit Exhibit with a frog finder and win a prize!

Revel in the vibrant spectacle of wildflowers adorning the trails of Jack London State Historic Park through August. The park offers an online “Blooming Now” guide to help visitors identify the flora across its expansive 1,570-acres and 29-mile trail network.

The Charles M. Schulz Museum presents “Cowabunga, Peanuts!” showcasing original Peanuts comic strip art, vintage toys, archival photos, and more. Dive into 1960s beach culture with Snoopy and the Peanuts characters enjoying coastal adventures. The exhibit captures beach activities and Snoopy’s humorous surfing exploits, including Schulz’s nod to the film “Jaws” (my all time favorite movie which I just saw on the big screen for the first time – so fun!).
