DENVER, CO — Sitting below the beautiful string lights that fill Larimer Square, sipping a glass of rose from Corridor 44, I couldn’t help but think “it doesn’t get much better than this.”Looking out into the square, everyone attending the ‘Dining Al Fresco’event was relaxed and happy.

We ate outside on a warm summer evening. Situated in the heart of Denver, Larimer Square is a host to many delicious restaurants, bars and entertainment – we never even left the square during our date night. It is such a treat to be able to do a host of activities without out driving back and forth.

After a delightful dinner from Corridor 44, complete with drinks and dessert, we wandered over to Comedy Works for a show. I tell you what, I have never been to a comedy show…but it was everything I could have hoped for – we laughed our heads off! The headliner was Sasheer Zamata from New York. A regular on Saturday Night Live, she had the whole audience on fire. I got to speak with a few of the comedians later after the show, and found that Comedy Works in Denver is one of the most respected comedy venues in the US. So, yea, we’ll definitely be coming back.

After the comedy show, we moved onto a little gem hidden underneath the Square called Green Russell – yet another Frank Bonanno genius concept. With a pie-shop looking entryway, we were whisked away to the underground speakeasy bar. Our bartender (they must have a fancier name!) Sean, was wonderful and Irish! He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the cocktails. From a simple Gin and tonic to a classic Sidecar, we were in love with the drinks and the atmosphere in which they were served. We had the privilege of sitting at the bar and seeing all of the cocktails being made. They even chip their own (very large) ice cubes from a gigantic block of ice. It’s more than a bar; it is a full cocktail show! And the perfect ending to a wonderful night out.

We’ll be back in Larimer Square for sure, and maybe even stay the night at one of the boutique hotels. If you are visiting Denver, there is no question about whether or not Larimer Square is the right place for you! If you are out for a special date night, or just a fun, early day with the kids, you’ll find activities, dining and events to fit your every mood.
