The National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC will reopen on May 14, 2021. Newly installed works will be on view.

A new program is the Smithsonian America Women’s History Initiative. It will create, disseminate, and amplify the accomplishments of American women and it comes with an illustrated book entitled First Ladies of the United States.

The National Portrait Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, 11:30 a.m.–7 p.m. Information about timed-entry passes is here.
