This extensive network of trails connects several countries in the region, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and natural wonders of the area. In Croatia, Via Dinarica passes next to six national parks (Risnjak, Northern Velebit, Paklenica, Plitvice Lakes, Krka, Mljet) and four nature parks (Učka, Velebit, Vransko Lake, Biokovo).

International recognition in sustainable tourism

As we celebrate Earth Day, Croatia reaffirms its commitment to sustainable tourism and environmental conservation. Early this year, Croatia’s recent reforms for managing the development of sustainable tourism, within which a legislative and strategic framework was established for tourism management, was recognized as an example of best practice for the development of tourism in other European and world destinations. Confirmation came from the most important European automobile club, ADAC, to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Nikolina Brnjac, who was presented with the Kristofor medal in recognition of her commitment to the development of sustainable tourism.

By promoting responsible travel practices and preserving its natural landscapes, Croatia invites travelers to experience the wonders of its wilderness while fostering a deeper appreciation of our planet.
