This Friday evening, tune in and celebrate the National Christmas Tree Lighting by the National Park Service (NPS).

This beloved American tradition, presented by the National Park Foundation and the National Park Service, will feature musical performances and the official lighting of the National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse in President’s Park.

The star-studded ceremony, in partnership with CBS, will be broadcast on December 15 at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST on CBS Television Network. Tune in to this special broadcast event with your friends and family to celebrate this more than 100-year-old holiday tradition.

The National Christmas Tree Lighting was first celebrated in 1923 by President Calvin Coolidge. This honored tradition continues to inspire people to pause and enjoy the cherished traditions and memories made with family and friends in national parks during the holiday season.
