The iconic TWA Hotel’s year-round Rooftop Pool at New York’s JFK Airport re-opens May 26, and its summer iteration based on the classic 1960s surfing documentary, Endless Summer.

The pool and rooftop at the TWA Hotel is one of the most unique experiences in the country, and a great way to spend a summer day or long layover at JFK.

The Rooftop Pool at the TWA Hotel welcomes guests and non-guests to experience a respite from the heat in the temperature controlled infinity pool as well as cool off with a seasonally themed cocktail. The bar menu serves small bites and aviation-themed summer drinks such as Jet Fuel (cucumber mint water, Aperol, fresh lemon juice and muddled watermelon), Quickie Vacation (vodka, elderflower liqueur, prosecco and fresh lime juice) and the classic Paper Plane (bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Montenegro, and lemon twist). Find the menu here.

Besides providing a gorgeous pool as well as tasty bites, the “Endless Summer” theme also includes a 10,000-square-foot observation deck. From the pool, which is purified every 30 minutes (a standard pool recirculates every 6 hours), travelers can watch jets bearing the livery of American Airlines, JetBlue, Lufthansa, Delta, and 70 other carriers take off and land on the stretches of tarmac just beyond the hotel.
