Thanks to consistent snowfall and a strong base, Colorado’s Copper Mountain plans to extend its season for two additional weeks, weather and conditions permitting.

The resort’s new planned closing day is Sunday, May 7, 2023, positioning the resort to have its longest season in 25 years. For its final weeks, the resort plans to operate its main lifts such as, American Eagle, Excelerator, American Flyer, Super Bee, Sierra, Timberline and Woodward Express. All operational plans are conditions dependent, and more details will be announced closer to the final weeks of the season.

Copper Mountain’s favorite spring event, Sunsation will return on April 22-23. The annual celebration delivers again with free live performances from We the Kings at 5 p.m. on Saturday and Emmit Fenn at 5 p.m. on Sunday, and a brand-new team relay event with a retro twist in honor of the resort’s 50th season. Weekend revelers can also win swag throughout the weekend by participating in fun competitions like stein hoisting contests, or relaxing on the snow beach that will be set up on Sunday.

Slush Rush, the unique new team relay event will debut on Saturday, April 22. Skiers and riders alike are welcome to join in teams of three to compete in a relay race that combines several snow sport competition favorites. Think halfpipe with giant slalom gates, a boardercross course with special challenges, a rail jam and of course, a retro jump across a pool of icy cold water. Guests will be able to view the fun from Copper’s Center Village. Registration and more details will be made available soon at CopperColorado.com.

In addition to Copper’s large-scale spring events, the resort is hosting Copper Live on Saturdays and Après music on Sundays throughout spring, and a Green Tire Giveaway on March 17, 26 and April 15. Copper will also close out the final two races of the Mammut Uphill Race Series on March 18 and the Copper Cup on April 15.
